Chart at: horoscopes.astro-seek.com/calculate-birth-chart-horoscope-online/

Note: this is an exercise in learning about mundane astrology and is a work-in-progress. And whilst this is a bit late to be doing the Aries Ingress, it applies for a full year, so is still relevant.

Period of Ingress: The fixed sign Taurus is rising, so this chart is applicable for the rest of the astrological year.

Summary: The government is likely to achieve nothing this year, be beset by acrimony, and be thrown out of power.

Ruling Planet: With Taurus rising, Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is the ruling planet of this chart. Venus is in its rulership in Taurus but is helped by only a weak sextile with Saturn, and is cadent in the 12th house.

Sun: The Sun represent the PM and in this chart is conjunct to Mercury boding well for the PMs public relations, but square with Mars (in the second house) suggesting trouble with the economy and conjunct with Neptune which suggests unpopularity and failure to achieve anything, with a risk of being thrown out of power. The debilitated Sun is in the eleventh house which also indicates legislative trouble.

Moon: The moon represents the political classes and in this chart is debilitated by a square with Mars and a sextile with Uranus, and conjunct with Neptune (in its rulership) which overall suggests civil unrest and conflict, public scandals, and loss of trust. It is in the eleventh house which further indicates conflict over legislation.

First House - the common people: The cusp is in Taurus which is ruled by Venus. Venus is in its rulership in Taurus but is helped by only a weak sextile with Saturn, and is cadent in the 12th house, so things are looking okay for the common people.

Second House - the general economy: The cusp is in Gemini which is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is peregrine in Aries and is helped by being conjunct with the Sun, but adversely impacted by a square with Mars. The conjunction with the Sun suggests the possibility of the PM not being blamed for the economy. But Mars in this house and square with Mercury suggests a lot of public acrimony and rising crime.

Third House - transportation, communications, media: The cusp is in Cancer which is ruled by the Moon which is peregrine in Pisces but debilitated by a square with Mars and a sextile with Uranus, and conjunct with Neptune (in its rulership). Not exactly great. This suggests that there will be unrest in the media with public scandals likely.

Fourth House - agricultural, real estate, the opposition: The cusp is in Leo which is ruled by the Sun. The Sun is conjunct to Mercury and has a sextile with Uranus but is debilitated by a square with Mars. This suggests a mixed time for the opposition with it being better able to get its message across but subject to conflict. The Sun is in the eleventh house, which indicates legislative trouble.

Fifth House - speculation, tourism, entertainment industry, sport: The cusp is in Virgo which is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is peregrine in Aries and is helped by being conjunct with the Sun, but adversely impacted by a square with Mars. Mercury is also in the eleventh house. This suggests a mixed time for NZ sport.

Sixth House - public health, labour force, civil service: The cusp is in Libra which is ruled by Venus, the ruling planet of the chart. Venus is in its rulership in Taurus but is helped by only a weak sextile with Saturn, and is cadent in the 12th house. This suggests some improvement to conditions for the labour force and public health.

Seventh House - foreign affairs: The cusp is in Scorpio which is ruled by Mars. Mars is peregrine in Gemini but is debilitated by squares with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Neptune, with the only help being a trine with Saturn, and is in the second house. This does not bode well for foreign affairs, suggesting a high degree of acrimony and being on the losing side of a war.

Eighth House - foreign trade: The cusp is in Sagittarius which is ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter is peregrine in Aries with no aspects and is cadent in the twelfth house. This looks like nothing to see here for foreign trade.

Ninth House - judiciary, universities, air travel: The cusp is in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn. Saturn is peregrine in Pisces and angular in the tenth house and aspected by a sextile with Venus and trine with Mars. This suggests okay outcomes for the judiciary and universities?

Tenth House - the executive branch: The cusp is in Aquarius which is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is in its fall in Taurus, and only helped by being sextile with the Moon, suggesting some beneficial changes for the executive, but angular in the first house, suggesting dissatisfaction and discord.

Eleventh House - the legislature: The cusp is in Pisces which is ruled by Neptune which is in its rulership and conjunct with the Sun and the Moon, suggesting an attentiveness to the needs of the nation and popular enthusiasm, but square with Mars, suggesting contention over innovations in legislation.

Twelfth House - national institutions: The cusp is in Aries which is ruled by Mars. Mars is peregrine in Gemini in the second house and debilitated by squares with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Neptune, with the only help being a trine with Saturn. This suggests national institutions will be a point of contention between the PM and the political classes, and will most likely see the fall of this government.
