Spell for Learning (for children)

From a book I am translating at the moment (Dornseiff's Das Alphabet in Mystik und Magie):

In order to make a child eager to learn and easily comprehending, a modern Greek magic spell advises writing the ABC on a bowl which is brought for the holy bread to have it blessed and dissolving the writing with pure wine; which the child should drink.
