Indifference as moderation

Just as virtue is the midpoint of two vices, so too are support and opposition bisected by indifference. Thus the 'opposite' of support should be indifference rather than opposition, as support and opposition are mirrors of one another and to oppose is to direct energy at something just as much as to support is, whereas indifference is to withhold energy.

Another midpoint is drag. Like when people say that you should support candidate A because candidate B is a shitbag, and you agree that B is a shitbag, but you also feel that A is only somewhat less shitty, so you can't muster the energy to support A by knocking on doors or whatever. Drag is the collective effect of countervailing factors that erode your support and leave you doing little or nothing.
