Chart at: horoscopes.astro-seek.com/calculate-birth-chart-horoscope-online/

Note: this is an exercise in learning about mundane astrology and is a work-in-progress.

Period of Ingress: The fixed sign Aquarius is rising, so this chart is applicable for the rest of the astrological year.

Summary: The government will most likely lose its gloss increasingly and may suffer from some scandals. A focus on foreign affairs by the PM may backfire as the domestic situation deteriorates. The likelihood of a crash in the housing market increases. The opposition may be restricted in their ability to take advantage of the governments declining popularity by a lack of appeal to the women's vote.

Ruling Planet: With Aquarius rising, Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, is the ruling planet of this chart. Uranus is in its fall in Taurus and is afflicted by squares with Venus and Mars.

Sun: The Sun represent the PM and in this chart is conjunct to Neptune which suggests widespread unpopularity and misfortune, with position or reputation at risk. The debilitated Sun is in the second house which indicates the possibility of budget trouble or heavy expenditure.

Moon: The moon represents the political classes and in this chart is helped by a trine with Saturn which suggests domestic stability and increased employment with local government reform likely. It is in the ninth house which favours universities, tourism, airlines and shipping.

First House - the common people: The cusp is in Aquarius which is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is in its fall in Taurus and is afflicted by squares with Venus and Mars, so things aren't looking great for the common people.

Second House - the general economy: The cusp is in Pisces which is ruled by Neptune. Neptune is in its rulership so is well-dignified and is helped by being conjunct with the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter. The conjunction with Mercury suggests the possibility of the economy being affected by a speculative bubble, large fraud or manias. Jupiter in this house suggests the general economy will go well though.

Third House - transportation, communications, media: The cusp is in Aries which is ruled by Mars. Mars is peregrine in Aquarius, conjunct with Venus (benefic) and square with Uranus (malefic). Not exactly great. Mars is in the twelfth house. Men are likely to show disfavour for the mainstream media.

Fourth House - agricultural, real estate, the opposition: The cusp is in Taurus which is ruled by Venus. Venus is peregrine in Aquarius and debilitated by a conjunct with Mars and a square with Uranus. This suggests trouble for agriculture and/or real estate. The opposition may also suffer in its appeal to the women's vote. Venus is in the twelfth house, which indicates the possibility of corruption and/or some scandal being uncovered.

Fifth House - speculation, tourism, entertainment industry, sport: The cusp is in Gemini which is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is in its fall in Pisces and has conjunctions with Jupiter (benefit) and Neptune (malefic). Mercury is also in the first house. This suggests that the national conversation may be full of disagreement and dominated by a speculative bubble which shows high volatility and the possibility of bursting. Tourism may remain in the doldrums.

Sixth House - public health, labour force, civil service: The cusp is in Cancer which is ruled by the Moon. The moon is peregrine in Libra but is helped by a trine with Saturn. This suggests low levels of restlessness in the labour force, but some improvement in conditions. Public health could be so-so. The moon being in the ninth house may suggest little change for employment in tourism.

Seventh House - foreign affairs: The cusp is in Leo which is ruled by the Sun. The Sun is in exaltation in Aries but conjunct to Neptune and in the second house. This may indicate an increased focus on foreign affairs by the PM, with positive results internationally, but it most likely will not help her popularity at home.

Eighth House - foreign trade: The cusp is in Virgo which is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is in its fall in Pisces and has conjunctions with Jupiter (benefit) and Neptune (malefic). Mercury is also in the first house. The conjunction with Jupiter is favourable for an expansion of trade but the debilitated position of Mercury in the first house works against this.

Ninth House - judiciary, universities, air travel: The cusp is in Libra which is ruled by Venus. Venus is peregrine in Aquarius and debilitated by a conjunct with Mars and a square with Uranus. This suggests trouble for the judiciary and universities, particularly for the position of women in these fields.

Tenth House - the executive branch: The cusp is in Scorpio which is ruled by Mars. Mars is peregrine in Aquarius, conjunct with Venus (benefic) and square with Uranus (malefic). Not exactly great. Mars is in the twelfth house. The executive branch is likely to be unpopular with the men's vote.

Eleventh House - the legislature: The cusp is in Sagittarius which is ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter is in the second house and is peregrine in Pisces and conjunct with Mercury and Neptune (malefic). The legislature is unlikely to achieve much this year with a focus on the economy.

Twelfth House - national institutions: The cusp is in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn. Saturn is in the twelfth house and peregrine in Aquarius with a trine to the Moon. This suggests not much happening with regard to national institutions.
